Part 11 - The Fame

Bill

I felt a lot better now. I was sitting in the livingroom, playing with Tom. We had a really great time. Suddenly, my phone rang. I looked at it to see who it was. It was her. I smiled, picked up the phone and said;

- Hi baby how are you? Are you coming home soon? But it wasn't her that answered.

- Ehm...i'm not your baby, but this girl here might be your girlfriend.

What was this? Who was this person that spoked with me?

- Who are you? I said.

- I'm Ben. I was walking with my dog and i find her on the street. I've called the ambulance, but it doesn't look good...

What the heck? I didn't understand anything. This man had my girl's cellphone, he said stuffs about a girl on the street and the ambulance? What was happening?

- I'm sorry Ben, but i think this is the wrong number.

- Are you sure? He said back. Cause i found her on the street, covered with blood and i thought that the best would be to call the ambulance. She had her bag and i picked up her phone and called someone with the name "Honey", so i guess you are her boyfriend?

- Who's boyfriend? Who's that girl on the street? Why is she covered with blood? Why have you called the ambulance? I had panic now. I didn't understand anything, but i was scared. Really scared.

- It's a small girl, not too tall. She has long hair, she's wearing a white shirt and tight jeans. She has a black bag and a pink phone. Does it sound like you know this girl?

-Yes...yes i said. I was terrified now.

- Bill, who is it? Tom asked me, but i didn't answer.

- You should know then that she has passed out, she has blood all over her body and she is not breathing, Ben continued.

- Wha-a-at? Why? I was shaking now. I still wasn't sure what was happening.

- I think that someone has beated her. She has brands from shoes on her face and stomach...Here is the ambulance. I gotta go.

- NO! i screamed out loud. Wait! You have to tell me were they are taking her.

- She's going to the hospital. They will take her to the hospital were the shopping center is, you know were it is, right?

- Yes i do. I'm coming. He hung up. I was shaking, my body was so heavy. Tom looked at me, he was worried.

- Bill? He said. I didn't answer. What happened? Are you okay? I still didn't answer. I said something like "hospital" and "shopping center" and Tom said that he would take me over there.

- Breathe Bill, breathe. It doesn't have to mean that it's her, okay? I couldn't answer. Cause i wanted to believe him. But i couldn't. Cause deep inside of me, i knew that it was her. I felt like i died. I have no idea how me and Tom came to the hospital, but suddenly we were there.

Tom

I grabbed Bill's arm, pulled him into the hospital. I was really scared to. Not only because i was worried if it really was her, cause Bill didn't act like normal. He stared out in the air, without watching anything.

- Please Bill, look at me, i asked but he didn't answer. He didn't even look at me. I asked a girl if they have got any new patient and she pointed at a little room. She seemed scared for Bill, cause he still watched straight out in the air. I took his hand and we walked to the room. Scared to see what there would be, i looked in.

She was laying on a bed, destroyed. She was really covered with blood. Her eyes were closed and her lips were cracked. I could only see blood,blood and blood and i felt sick. But my feelings were nothing compared to Bill's.

In the minute he saw her, he started to scream. He cried so much and it totally broke me. He ran too the door and started to pull it. I grabbed him and tried to pull him back, but he was struggling against me like crazy.

-Let me go! He screamed. I need her! She can't leave me i can't live without her! He struggled against me so much and i felt horrible. But i knew that i couldn't let him get in, cause he would go even more crazy.

- Bill stop! I'm gonna take you away...he interrupted me.

- Don't you even dare! Tears were falling from his eyes like a flood. I can't live without her she can't just leave me! He started to push me. I need her let me get to her!

- You're not helping her by doing this Bill... but then he just cried even more. He didn't have powers anymore to struggle, so he fell down on a couch. He was shaking, crying and screaming. He said stuffs like "don't leave me please, life isn't worth anything without you" and i sat down.

I sat there the whole night. Bill cried like it was impossible to stop. I said stuffs for myself like "Please let her survive...please. For Bill. For them. They need each other." I had panic. If she wouldn't survive...Bill probably wouldn't survive. And without him, my life wasn't worth anything.
